For overseas Pakistanis

Invest in Pakistan from abroad. Don't run it from abroad.

Own a company-operated O'Brownies café in Pakistan. We find the site, build it and run it every day. You keep your career in Dubai, Riyadh, London or Houston, and follow the numbers from there.

Why it's hard

Why most businesses back home fail their overseas owners

The money is rarely the problem. Distance is.

No one in charge

A business needs daily decisions. Run through a relative or a manager you hired by phone, small problems become big ones before you hear about them.

No visibility

Without proper reporting you only know what someone tells you. Sales, costs and stock are guesses from five time zones away.

Building from scratch

A new brand, menu, fit-out and team is a full-time job for a year. Few people can do that on annual leave.

How it works

You invest. We establish. We operate. You monitor.

The company-operated model was built for owners who are not on site.

  1. 01

    You invest

Choose an investment bracket and an area. Funds move through formal banking channels.

  2. 02

    We establish

Site, design, fit-out, equipment, branding and launch. Nothing is built from scratch.

  3. 03

    We operate

The O'Brownies team hires, trains and runs the café every day, to the brand's standards.

  4. 04

    You monitor

Revenue and KPIs come to you. An app-based reporting dashboard is in development.

Practicalities

What you'll need as an overseas investor

Most of it you already have. The rest we walk you through.

This is general information, not legal or tax advice. Your bank, lawyer and tax adviser have the final word on your own case.

  • Pakistani ID

A CNIC or NICOP, or a POC card if you hold Pakistan Origin status, plus your passport.

  • A formal channel for funds

Send money through banks, not informal routes, so your investment has a clean paper trail. Many non-residents use a Roshan Digital Account, which the State Bank of Pakistan says can be opened and run online and used for legitimate payments to local accounts. Ask your bank how repatriation would work for a business investment.

  • Signed agreements

Your investment is set out in a written agreement. You can review it remotely; your lawyer will advise whether to sign in person or through an authorised representative.

  • Tax advice

Income from Pakistan can be taxed in Pakistan and, depending on where you live, abroad too. Agree how you'll handle it with a tax adviser before you invest.

Investment

Four brackets, in Pakistani rupees

You pick a bracket on the enquiry form. The right one depends on the city, the site and the outlet format.

Brackets are indicative and subject to location, format and due diligence. Returns are not guaranteed; they depend on how the outlet performs.

  • 01 PKR Less than 25 million
  • 02 PKR 25 – 30 million
  • 03 PKR 30 – 35 million
  • 04 PKR 35 – 50 million

FAQ

Questions overseas investors ask us

Can overseas Pakistanis invest in a business in Pakistan?

Yes. Non-resident Pakistanis can own and invest in businesses in Pakistan. Strategic Synergy's company-operated O'Brownies outlets are designed for owners who live abroad: you fund the outlet and the O'Brownies team runs it every day.

Do I need to be in Pakistan to own an O'Brownies outlet?

No. Enquiries, discussions, reporting and most paperwork can be handled remotely. You are welcome to visit the site and the team; your lawyer will advise whether any documents should be signed in person or through an authorised representative.

How do I send the investment from abroad?

Through formal banking channels, so there is a clear record. Many non-residents use a Roshan Digital Account, which the State Bank of Pakistan says can be opened online and used for legitimate payments to local accounts. Confirm with your bank how repatriation would work for a business investment.

How will I know how my outlet is performing?

You receive revenue and KPI reporting for your outlet. An app-based dashboard that shows these directly is in development.

How much do I need to invest?

Investment is discussed in four brackets: under PKR 25 million, PKR 25–30 million, PKR 30–35 million and PKR 35–50 million. The right one depends on the city, site and outlet format, and is confirmed after due diligence.

Are returns guaranteed?

No. Like any business, an outlet's results depend on its location, sales and costs. We will walk you through the assumptions for your site before you commit.

Where would my outlet be?

New O'Brownies outlets are opening in Islamabad and Rawalpindi first, then in other regions. You choose the area with us before anything is built.

Which countries do your overseas investors live in?

The model works from anywhere. Most enquiries come from Pakistanis in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the UK and the US.
